The international public tender announced by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the selection of a consulting team whose task is to strategically design the development of the urban area of Pula has just ended.
A few days ago, an interesting process began in which the vision of Pula of the 21st century will crystallize through several months of creative work of top European consultants.
Namely, the international public tender announced by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the selection of a consulting team whose task is to strategically design the development of the urban area of Pula has just ended. In addition to Šibenik, Split and Zagreb, the EBRD has chosen Pula as a city with the potential for a certain type of development. Split was the first to cooperate with the EBRD through the "Project of the Century", which includes the relocation of the main railway and bus station from the city center to the Kopilica area, which opens both locations for development and more appropriate facilities. In Croatia, this is also the first example of urban regeneration of a large urban area.
The value of the tender for the selection of a consulting team for Pula, which is fully covered by the EBRD, is around 2.5 million kuna. Unofficially, we have learned that there is a great interest in this tender from high-quality consultants present on the European market. We also learned unofficially that the consulting teams will produce their solutions and visions of development, as well as the revitalization of Pula, within approximately three months.
The aim of the competition is to offer solutions for high-value urban areas that are not in operation and are decaying or completely abandoned from the perspective of architects, space planners, real estate specialists, as well as specialists in regional and urban economic development. In any case, some goal is to impose new content on them over a period of time and give them a different meaning.
